Ellu Bella Recipe | Sankranti Mix Recipe

Ellu (sesame seeds) bella(jaggery) along with other ingredients is a perfectly balanced mix for the month of January. It has protein, calcium, oil and iron from the ingredients, which are required for our body to rejuvenate from the winter weather. As we all know in every part of our country Sankranthi festival is celebrated, though each state has its own name for this festival, basically celebrating the harvest. At this time of the year, weather will be cold and dry, the main ingredients we use to prepare the dish for this festival is til/sesame seeds and jaggery along with nuts and coconut, which makes it an absolute health snack for the winter

Sprouted Mung Beans/Moong Salad Recipe

In our last recipe we learned “how to sprout the Mung Beans“ . Here we have easy salad with the sprouted mung and other seasonal vegetables and fruit. This is a great addition to a low fat, vegan dinner with great protein and fiber content.

In our farmers market I do see lots of Pomegranate, so I decided to use that along with carrot, cucumber. You can also add  colorful Bell Peppers, guava, apples or any fruits available in that season.

Broccoli Chutney

Broccoli belongs to cabbage family. Broccoli is rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin K and Vitamin C. Broccoli is rich in antioxidants.
Health Benefits of Broccoli Chutney
Broccoli is rich in Vitamin K and Vitamin A, which helps to keep the metabolism of vitamin D in balance. Vitamin D helps in absorption of calcium. If deficient in Vitamin D and taking supplements, please make sure to include Broccoli in diet.
Broccoli helps is maintaining a healthy eyesight due to it is high content of Vitamin A
Broccoli chutney contains Broccoli and Garlic, together they have a lot of anti-inflammatory benefits.
Broccoli is very rich in Vitamin C, supports our immune system.
