Ganesha Festival is celebrated during the August/September time of the year. Usually, we perform a vrata and prepare some traditional Ganesha festival recipes such as payasam, saaru, and kadubu.

Menu:
The menu of items that are traditionally prepared is the following:
- Thatte Idli (plate idli)
- Payasam
- Two palyas (curries). EX: Carrot palya, Badanekaayi palya (Eggplant curry), potato, etc.
- Gojju
- 2 kosambari’s: Hesaru bele (moong dal) and kadale bele (channa dal) kosambari
- Saaru (rasam)
- Kalasida anna (mixed rice, e.g. vangibaath)
- Kadubu
For naivedyam for Ganesha, the following items are needed:
- Soaked whole channa
- Karagadabu or kolukattai or Avi Kadabu
- Chakli (murukku)
- Modaka
