Dosa / Dose is the popular common breakfast item in typical south Indian Kitchen. It is prepared using many different ways and with different ingredients. Here I have Neer DOsa / Neer Dose recipe, instead of rice we are using Foxtail millet/Navane here. Millets believed to be good for diabetic patients since it releases the glucose slowly. All millets are non glutinous grains.

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the millet for 3 to4 hours with 2 cups of water.
  2. Then drain the water and grind the soaked millet along with coconut, salt and little water to fine consistency. Add enough water to get this consistency.
  3. Transfer it to a bowl or pan, add water to get thin batter. I used around 2 cups of water.
To make the Neer Dosa:
  1. Grease the tawa and heat the skillet on medium high heat.
  2. Once the tawa is hot enough, put the oil generously on the tawa spread it with a spoon.
  3. Take a ladle of batter (mix the batter each time you make the dosa) and simply spread it all over the tava.
  4. Put oil on top and cover the lid. Let it cook for a minute.
  5. Once dose is done remove it from the tawa on to plate using a turner.
  6. To make another one, again put oil on the skillet and follow the same procedure.
  7. Eat this Dose with chutney, banana seekarane, or mango seekarane.
