Pani Puri and Masalpuri are the common street chats found in every streets in Karnataka. These are everyone’s favorite chaats. Addictive I should say ???? Pani as digestive drink, this masale for this masalpuri is very healthy protein and fiber rich dish, It can be consumed as it is.
For poori you can use even baked pita chips, or deep fried corn tortillas or even you can use corn chips. But it always tastes good with homemade pooris.

No Onion, No Garlic Mint Pulav | Pudina Pulao

Pudina Pulav/mint palav is very easy yet delicious rice dish. Mint helps in digestion, indirectly helps in weight loss in a healthy way.This Mint pulav is quick and easy rice dish, can be prepared with Mint and other  ingredients easily available at home. Also, you can use any vegetables or you can make without vegetables too.

Rosmarinic acid present in mint  may help in reducing seasonal allergies due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

Kashaya Powder Recipe, Healthy Ayurvedic Powder

Malnad region and even coastal Karnataka morning beverage is always kashaya.  With fresh aroma of the roots,seeds and made with fresh milk will wake you up in the morning. This kashaya is a hot beverage which has many health benefits, it is excellent drink to prevent/soothe the cough, cold and flu symptoms. Prepare the kashaya powder and prepare kashaya and drinking every day will keep your body prakruthis (vata, pitta and kapha) balanced.

Here we have kashaya powder with many ingredients which is not available every where, in that case use basic ingredients which is available in your pantry. You cannot skip coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, black pepper, turmeric root(dried).  All other ingredients required but not a must.

Sambar Recipe – Dill leaves and Black Chana

Sambar/ HuLi is the most common dish in south Indian Kitchen.  We use different combinations of vegetables, different spice mix to make it more interesting. Today’s recipe is Sambar with dill leaves(sabbasige soppu) and Black/brown/kala chana(kadale kaalu). Very nutritious and delicious Sambar goes well with rice, and Raagi Mudde.
